Strokeability Programmes in Ashfield

What are Strokeability Programmes?

 

Exercise class

Strokeability is an exercise programme delivered in partnership by Ashfield District Council, NHS and Nottinghamshire County Council. The programme is specifically designed for people who have had a stroke encouraging them to become more active. All sessions are delivered by a qualified exercise instructor and are adapted to suit individual needs and abilities. Exercises can be done standing or seated.

There are currently 2 strokeability programmes in Ashfield which take place as follows:

  • Thursday's, 1-2pm at Festival Hall Leisure Centre, Kirkby in Ashfield
  • Monday's, 1.30-2.30pm at Lammas Leisure Centre, Sutton In Ashfield
  • A futher programme is scheduled to start at Hucknall leisure Centre, Wednesdays 2-4pm, from 6th March 2013

 

The cost to attend is £2 per session for the first 10 weeks and £3 per session thereafter. Places must be booked in advance.

All participants attending the programme must be near to or have completed their stroke rehabilitation programme.
