Primary PE Specialists

Ashfield District - Nottinghamshire

37.5 hours per week (Term time only)

Salary: £18,645 per annum

Duration: September 2013 to July 2014 initially

(with a view to a further year subject to confirmation of funding)

Following the Government announcement of Sport Premium funding to all
Primary Schools an exciting opportunity has arisen in the Ashfield District for
Primary PE Specialists. The successful applicants will teach PE and school
sport to Key stage 1 and 2 pupils across a number of different schools within
the Ashfield District School Sports Network.

The purpose of the role is to:

Provide Primary Schools with a high quality
Physical Education, sport and physical activity programme, provide support to
schools to equip staff with the skills to deliver a sustainable PE curriculum
and provide support to schools to develop an extra-curricular programme that
improves the quality and quantity of participation.

The successful candidates will be experienced teachers or NQTs, dynamic,
self-motivated, have the ability to enthuse pupils and have excellent
interpersonal skills in order to develop lasting partnerships with pupils,
staff and parents. A good knowledge and understanding of the PE National
Curriculum is essential and experience of working with Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils
would be an advantage.

The School Games is a celebration of competitive sport that will involve all young people in years 3 to 13, of all abilities and backgrounds.

The School Games is made up of four levels of competition:

Level 1: Intra-school competition, culminating in a School Games day

Level 3: Annual county/area culmination of inter-school competitions – School Games Festivals
