Over 300 children from Croft, Hillocks, Leamington, Carsic and Sutton Centre schools were among the guests for the opening of the new adiZone facility at Sutton Lawn.
The Ribbon was officially cut by Chris Clarke, GB's most exciting 400m talent for 2012 and Jamie Whiteman, Huthwaite's 14 year old International Ice Skater and a hopeful for the 2012 Winter Olympics.
The first performance on the Zone was a dance performance by members of the Pop Divas Dance Group who attend Carsic Junior School.
Schools took part in taster sports on the 3G Facility and the adiZone.
The adiZone takes the shape of the 2012 logo and boasts a performance area, basketball, climbing wall and outdoor gym equipment. It is the first one to be launched in the East Midlands Region.
The area is free for use by the public and can also be booked, free of charge, for specific times by local schools and clubs for P.E. lessons, festivals or training sessions.
